The small church dates from the early nineteenth century and it is located on an eighteenth century chapel dedicated to St. Gaetano, patron saint of Catremerio. The church has undergone several expansions, until it reached its present size in the early twentieth century, a time when the village had 310 inhabitants and became an independent parish detached from Brembilla. Since 1986 the parish of San Gaetano of Catremerio has been united together with the one of Sant'Antonio Abbandonato. The feast of the patron saint is celebrated in the first half of August, with functions, processions and festivities that last for three days with a large flow of people and migrants.
